THNSW Board Advisory Subcommittee Members

Looking to play a strategic role with Transport Heritage NSW? Join a THNSW Board Advisory Subcommittee.

THNSW Board Subcommittees play a key role in contributing to the governance of THNSW and the pursuit of THNSW’s agreed strategic direction and goals by providing expert insights, guidance and knowledge in specific key areas to support the THNSW Board.

The THNSW Board is seeking expressions of interest from individuals with appropriate knowledge, skills, qualifications and relevant experience - subject matter expertise - to join its advisory subcommittees.

The five Board advisory subcommittees are as follows:

  • Finance, Risk & Audit (FR&AC) – financial performance, including annual business planning and budgeting, business risk management, insurance and compliance.  “Business risk” excludes safety and environmental risk.

  • Collections & Curatorial (C&CC) – museum collection management, curatorial matters and related risks, including policies, collection acquisitions, deaccessioning, restoration projects, performance and compliance.

  • Rail Operations Support (ROSC) – heritage rail operations and activities, including planning for future delivery needs, policies, performance and compliance.

  • Organisational Culture (OCC) – fostering a positive organisational culture, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, and positioning THNSW as a preferred employer and volunteer organisation.

The Terms of Reference (ToRs) set out the purpose and scope, as well as the competencies and expertise the THNSW Board is seeking for each subcommittee.  Each ToR is available on the THNSW website - see Board Sub-Committees, simply go to:  What we do | THNSW

Each ToR also sets out the expected commitment required, and all participation is voluntary (non-remunerated).  Some out-of-pocket expenses may be covered from time-to-time.
